The Camillus Memorial Day Parade Committee is proud to announce

Steven Poli as our 2022 Grand Marshal.

    Steve was born in New York City, and raised in Watertown, NY. Joining the Marine Corps after graduating from high school, he served honorably from 1957 – 1963 at several stateside stations, the U.S. Naval Station, Argentia, and Newfoundland.

    After his military service he graduated from college and started his career with Sylvania Electric Product (GTE Corp) at its Camillus location. In 1990, Steve was appointed to the position of Court Clerk serving under Camillus Town Justice Donald Fittipaldi. In 1993 Steve was appointed and then elected to the position of Camillus Town Justice and served in that position for 27 years, retiring in 2020.

    One of the most rewarding achievements was working along side his sons, Mark and Scott, as a pyrotechnic providing spectacular display fireworks in the Central New York area for 20 years.

He is an active member of American Legion Post 1540, Marine Corps League, Camillus Elks, Camillus Erie Canal Park, Echo Meals on Wheels. Steve was also associated with the Camillus, Solvay, Geddes Rotary, the Greater Camillus Chamber of Commerce, Valley Men’s Club, Camillus Kiwanis, National Association of Accountants, and NYS Magistrates Association.

    Steve has resided in Camillus for the past 58 years. He was and still is active in many charitable and non-profit organizations, he believed in giving back to the community in which one lives, works, and plays.
